About the Issues
In the twilight of a 38 year career in law enforcement with the Uintah County Sheriff's Office and the Vernal City Police Department, I have decided to transition to run for Uintah County Commissioner, Seat A.
I do so after being solicited from several members of our community, and because of my love for where I've lived the majority of my life, and raised my children. My dad always said "If you're not willing to get involved you can't complain about the outcome". I'M IN!
During my law enforcement career I worked in nearly every area of law enforcement, and received numerous awards and accolades. For the last 18 years I have been a Chief Deputy and Assistant Chief of Police, where my duties were very similar to those of a Commissioner. I provided leadership, managed large budgets, made educated decisions supported by those around me, and changed culture for the better. I am proud of those years, and plan to continue.
I truly believe we all live in one of the greatest areas of our country. While keeping pace with technology and dealing with the inevitable changes, we still live and thrive in an area that we love and choose to raise our children and grandchildren.
I value this community, and I believe that maintaining this culture while planning for moderate growth and progression will take work. I'm familiar with the work, have built strong relationships with many of those I'll be working with, and am eager to transition to this new endeavor. I am not a politician, I am a worker and a fixer. I am honest, hardworking, straight forward, and knowledgeable. I value and expect those characteristics in others. I believe in uniting as a county to achieve things that benefit all, rather than fighting and competing against each other. Unity and planning will surely help us improve Uintah County, and ensure that it remains one of the greatest areas of our country to live and raise children.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement.
